SAYWARD TAPPED FOR LEADERSHIP POSITION
WASHINGTON, D.C. – New York State Assemblywoman Teresa Sayward (R,I – Willsboro) was selected to serve in leadership for the nation’s oldest organization addressing the needs of elected women at all levels of government.
Sayward was elected to serve as State Director of NY for the National Foundation for Women Legislators (NFWL) at the 2009 NFWL Annual Conference in Santa Ana Pueblo, New Mexico.
By accepting the State Director position, Assemblywoman Sayward is charged with encouraging support throughout NY. Assemblywoman Sayward also coordinates activities with the Regional Director of Region 2 which includes DC, DE, KY, MD, NJ, NY, OH, PA, VA, WV.
“I am honored to have been selected for this position and eager to reach out to all of the elected women who serve in NY to build relationships across state lines and include them in the many important programs and initiatives that the National Foundation for Women Legislators offers,” stated Sayward. “I plan to increase opportunities for growth, prosperity, and wellness within the state.”

Elected women from across the nation gathered at NFWL’s recent Annual Conference in New Mexico to identify effective solutions to some of the nation’s most pressing issues. Providing a non-partisan environment that encourages dialogue and information-sharing, legislators are able to build coalitions, share the concerns of their constituents, and highlight initiatives that have been successful within their own state at this annual event.
