SAYWARD BRINGS ADIRONDACK COMMUNITIES TOGETHER

Adirondack meeting inspires discussion about future of North Country economy
Assemblywoman Teresa Sayward (R,I – Willsboro) yesterday held the first public meeting of the Adirondack Caucus in Chestertown. At the meeting, Assembly members Sayward and Duprey, Senator Little, and their colleagues presented an overview of the Adirondack Park Regional Assessment Project (APRAP), which outlines economic issues facing the park.
“I’m incredibly grateful for the interest that members from all across the Adirondack Park region have shown,” said Sayward. “I feel that this meeting, which is the first of many that we will hold, was very productive. The only way to properly represent the people of our districts is to get out and interact with them, finding out what is most important to their lives.
The meeting, which attracted over 200 people from across the Adirondack Park area, also included a question and answer period. Many questions were asked by members of the audience, including discussions about ways to improve the infrastructure of park communities, how to create and sustain jobs, a special economic zone for the park, and keeping and attracting younger generations to the park.
