SAYWARD PASSES BILL TO EXPAND HISTORIC TAX CREDIT
Legislation will help Revitalize North Country Communities
Assemblywoman Teresa Sayward (R,I – Willsboro) yesterday helped pass legislation that will expand the scope of the historic preservation tax credit and raises the credit from $25,000 to $50,000 if more than one residence is rehabilitated.
Assemblywoman Sayward noted that by making the credit available to banks and insurance companies and by increasing the size of the credit, these provisions will greatly increase the amount of private investments in our local communities, leading to economic stimulation and job growth, as well as helping to preserve more of New York’s historical buildings.
“Investing in the upkeep and improvement of our communities will help to attract business while preserving the history of the North Country,” said Sayward.
