SAYWARD LAUDS SUPREME COURT DECISION REAFFIRMING 2ND AMENDMENT RIGHTS
Today the Supreme Court maintained and strengthened a vital and treasured right granted to all individuals by our Constitution and affirmed what so many Americans believe in – our right to keep and bear arms.”
The Supreme Court ruled earlier this morning that firearms are "essential for self-defense." This latest ruling was handed down following "handgun bans" that were overturned in Washington DC by the "Heller" ruling in 2008. The court found that if the Second Amendment indeed protects an individual right to own a gun, the notion that the government can't ban all handguns is the minimum protection the Constitution can offer.
