ASSEMBLY PASSES BUDGET, RAISES TAXES
Senate recesses for holiday, leaves without passing budget
“When all is said and done, this year’s budget process will go down as one of the most dysfunctional of all time. By deferring business credits and raising taxes, state leaders are inevitably doing more harm to the economy than good.”
“People back home have been forced to cut back drastically. The budget we just passed cuts only one percent from our legislative budget. It is irresponsible and unacceptable that legislative leaders expect taxpayers to cut back while they are unable to do so themselves. The Assembly has done what can be done on the budget. Now the Senate must act.”
